Dump Truck Overturns Near New Deal

A dump truck overturned just west of New Deal Tuesday morning and it took emergency crews from two cities to clean up the mess.

The accident happened around 11am, in the 4400 block of FM 1729. Police and Fire Departments from both Shallowater and New Deal responded to the scene.

Officials believe the truck's load may have shifted during transport, causing the driver to lose control. Paramedics later transported the driver to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
