The NCAA is taking its first step towards cleaning up college athletics. The NCAA is now giving conferences the option of adding $2,000 in spending money to athletic scholarships.
Schools will also be allowed to award scholarships for multiple years, instead of annually. Off the field, players must maintain a higher grade point average and schools could be banned from the post season if they don't meet academic benchmarks.
