City Manager urges "yes" to Prop 2 on November 8th ballot

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

It's not everyday that the Lubbock City Manager leads anything resembling a get-out-the-vote campaign.  But City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld is calling on local voters to approve Proposition 2 in the November 8th election.

Her call to voters will come in the form of a resolution to the City Council on Thursday.

Prop 2 is one of 10 proposed state constitutional amendments.  Specifically, Prop 2 would allow the Texas Water Development Board to borrow up to $6 billion and in turn lend that money to cities, counties, water districts, and river authorities.  They money could be used for water supply projects, repairs, improvements, and expansions.

Early voting runs through November 4th.  CLICK HERE for early voting locations.  CLICK HERE for a description of all ten propositions.
