City to change taxi cab fare regulations

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The rules for taxi cabs in Lubbock are about to change.  Taxi companies will no longer have to go to the City Council for permission to raise rates.  Instead, the City Manager will regulate the fares.

Also, limousine companies will be allowed to have limos that are more than 10 years old.  The Lubbock City Council holds the second and final reading for the changes on Thursday.
