Former Anton School District Employee Charged with Theft

A former employee of the Anton Independent School District has been charged with embezzlement.

On Wednesday, a Hockley County grand jury indicted Denise Stephenson of theft of more than $20,000 dollars. The former secretary is believed to have embezzled more than $200,000 from the school district over a period of 10 years.
