Republican Randy Neugebauer will face a Libertarian candidate in his re-election bid for the 19th Congressional seat.
On Thursday, Dr. Richard "Chip" Peterson filed for the Libertarian Party's nomination in the March 9th Primary. Peterson was also a candidate in last year's District 19th Special Election. Peterson says he wants to provide an outlet for voters who feel important issues are being ignored by both major parties.
District 17 Representative, Charlie Stenholm, could also be in this race. Under the new redistricting map, he has the option to run in districts 13 or 19, but has yet to file for either district.
