Just before 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, a wreck on the Loop flyover reduced traffic to one lane.
According to police on the scene, the driver of a white car was headed south on I-27 when he made a last minute decision to take the Loop 289 exit. He cut across the lane in front of another vehicle before slamming into the concrete wall embankment.
The driver then lost control and the car flipped completely over, stopping in the direction of oncoming traffic. Both the driver and front seat passenger were taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries, the four back seat passengers were just a little shaken up.
No other cars were involved in this accident, but traffic was reduced to one lane while the scene was cleared. Parts of the car were strung along the road.
