Hundreds Turn Out For ChaseCom Job Fair In Lubbock

On Tuesday hundreds of people turned out at the old West building at 19th St. and West Loop 289 for the ChaseCom Job Fair. On Monday ChaseCom CEO Morgan Smith announced the telecommunications company would be occupying the former West Communications Call Center and its assets.

Last month, West announced it would close due to the impact of "No-Call Registries", and a change in client marketing strategies. Market Lubbock Inc helped create an incentive package to bring ChaseCom to Lubbock. ChaseCom CEO says the workforce in Lubbock is appealing.

"Texas Tech is known to have a great student population and from a workforce perspective it offers us a great opportunity to tap into an Internet and date savvy workforce," said Morgan Smith, ChaseCom CEO.

The job fair at ChaseCom continues Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. inside the former West Telecommunications building.
