Congressman Randy Neugebauer addressed the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon held at the Science Spectrum on Wednesday.
Neugebauer discussed the issues he and his fellow lawmakers have worked on while in Washington. Following Tuesday's announcement that Congressman Charlie Stenholm would be an opponent in the next election, Neugebauer says it comes down to commitment. Both Congressmen are members of the Ag committee, but only one of them will remain in congress.
"What you have to look at is we're going to have someone on the ag committee that's going to continue to effectively be an advocate for the people of West Texas. I'm on three of the sub committees on agriculture, all of which deal with the commodities we grow in West Texas," said Neugebauer.
Republican Randy Neugebauer faces Democrat Charlie Stenholm and Libertarian Chip Peterson in the November 2nd election.
