Almost one year after space shuttle Columbia disintegrated over Texas upon re-entry, Americans continue to honor its lost crew members.
On Monday, a dedication ceremony was held for the shuttle's Commander Rick Husband.
Husband was a Texas Tech graduate and an Amarillo native. The airport in Amarillo has already been renamed in his honor and Monday a bronze statue of Husband was unveiled.
Many of Husband's family members were there to say a few words about him. "Like I say, Rick was very humble and he may be a little bit embarrassed too, but i think it's a great tribute. Amarillo has gone over and above board in remembering and honoring Rick," said Rick's mother, Jane Husband.
Husband's wife Evelyn has written a book about Rick, titled "High Calling", which is available at local book stores.
