LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
The First United Methodist Church in Lubbock held their 19th Annual Community Wide Thanksgiving Dinner Saturday afternoon.
Just about everything was donated for the lunch, including food from United Supermarkets and milk from Gandy's. The lunch took place at the Christian Life Center and organizers say there was a pretty good turnout.
"We have this open to the community. It's not just for the homeless or underprivileged people, it's for everyone," Nancy Edwards, volunteer coordinator, said.
The event began back in 1993 and organizers say, since then, more than 20,000 people have received a free traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
