Red Raiders Beat SFA to move to 3-0

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball kept their perfect early season intact with a 66-54 win over Stephen F. Austin today at the United Spirit Arena. Tech shot 62.9% from the field to help them improve to 3-0 on the season.

Junior guard Ty Nurse led all scorers with 14 points and was one of four Tech players to score in double figures. Sophomore Jaye Crockett had a nice game off the net scoring 13 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Freshman Jordan Tolbert added 12 points and 5 boards as well.

Along with the great field goal percentage, the Red Raiders shot 54.5% from the three-point line on 6-11 shooting. The win marks the final home game for a while for Tech. They hit the road this week to begin play in the 2011 Old Spice Classic. The tournament takes place in Orlando, Fl and pits Tech against Indiana State in the opening round. That game takes place on Thanksgiving Day at 11 a.m. Other notable teams in the tournament include Arizona State, Minnesota, and Wake Forrest.
