Lubbock man investigated by NCIS for child porn

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

U.S. Marshals arrested a man Wednesday in Lubbock after NCIS or the Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigated him for possession of child pornography.

It's not clear from court records where the arrest took place but Jeffery Alan Hoover, 35, lists a Lubbock residence in the 4800 block of 39th Street.  Hoover made his initial appearance Friday in Lubbock federal court where a magistrate ordered him held in jail until another court appearance on Monday.

NCIS says in court records that Hoover downloaded child pornography while living on the San Diego U.S. Naval Base.  The criminal complaint says between March and October of 2010, Hoover collected 30 images and three movie files of girls between the ages of 8 to 12.

The complaint says in at least one video a girl was made to have sex with an adult man.  The charges are filed in the San Diego Division of the U.S. District Court.
