Often you don't appreciate something until it's gone! That can really be true with water. Here are some things you can do to help conserve water and make the best use of what you have available.
The City of Lubbock has launched a new hotline called 'No-H20' for citizens to call and report water runoff.
The number is (806) 775-3952 , and callers can leave a message on the line 24 hours a day.
"We're calling it the No-H20 line because our message is no water in the streets," said Gaylyn Chapman, Interim Customer Service Manager for Water Utilities. "We've had a lot of calls in response to the proposed new water ordinance, and the No-H20 hotline is a way for our citizens to report runoff or wasted water."
The hotline recorded message will ask the caller to give information about:
- the location of the water problem
- the time of day it occurred
- and if possible, the source of the water.
- Callers also will have the option to leave their name and number, which will be kept confidential.
The new water ordinance will not go into effect until the City Council approves a second reading.
