LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Target stores nationwide are facing an egg shortage after a major supplier was charged with animal cruelty.
Target Spokesperson Jessica Carlson said, "We certainly recognize that this is a really busy shopping season for our guests, and we are looking super diligently to restock egg supplies in stores across the country. Target discontinued its business relationship with Sparboe Farms and we removed all Sparboe-produced products from our stores."
Both Target locations in Lubbock were out of eggs on Wednesday morning, but they were expecting a shipment later in the day.
Wal Mart and United stores were not affected - both chains have eggs in stock.
