Lubbock Senator Robert Duncan (R) said he is looking forward to his new assignment to a top Senate post announced Wednesday by Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.
Duncan will serve as chairman of the Senate Committee on State Affairs, a body designed to tackle issues that impact the state from worker's compensation and election reforms to asbestos claims and penalties for injury to an unborn child.
This is not the first time Duncan has served the Texas Senate on the State Affairs Committee. While working for former state Senator John Montford, Duncan served as general counsel to the committee in 1989.
