Hockley County Sheriff not running for election

HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

Hockley County will soon be on the look out for a new sheriff...because the current one is not running for election.

Kevin Davis took over as Hockley County Sheriff after the previous sheriff was removed from office.

The previous sheriff was removed when a some of his deputies were arrested in a major federal drug bust.

Now that things have returned to normal, The Levelland and Hockley County Press News reports that Davis has no plans to run for election.

The paper reports that Paul Scarborough is running for the office.

Scarborough is currently the Hockley County Chief Deputy.
