Lubbock City Council Members Urge Citizens to Pray For Rain

Thursday, the Lubbock City Council called a news conference to proclaim this Sunday as a day of prayer and fasting for rain on the South Plains. On Sunday, citizens will be encouraged to pray that our reservoirs are replenished and our consumption needs are met now and in the future.

The proclamation comes at a time when Lubbock's main water supply, Lake Meredith is only 17% full. That percentage is down from 22% in 2002.
