A credit counseling company quotes Texas Tech and other universities as saying a bad attitude can lead to a better credit score. The company GetCreditRepair.org says the research was done at Tech, Louisiana State University, and Northern Illinois University.
The company's statement says, "There was a negative relationship between agreeableness and credit scores." It also says, "Alternatively, the more disagreeable you are, the higher your credit score is."
One of the study's authors at LSU is quoted as saying, "agreeableness is also negatively related to career advancement and career earnings."
However, researchers are also quoted as saying there is no correlation between low credit scores and bad behavior on the job. Sorry. Stealing, and lying won't necessarily make your credit score any better.
The company released its statement in September but re-released it just in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
