The LISD school board Thursday morning unanimously approved putting ninth graders in high school and sixth graders in middle school. The changes are proposed for the 2006-2007 school year, meaning the first class affected by the change are current third and sixth graders.

So in 2006, elementary school should consist of grades K-5, middle school grades 6-8, and grades 9-12 would attend high school.
