Dr. Erika P. Densmore is a native Texan, having grown up in the Longview area of upper East Texas. After graduating from Hallsville High School, she attended Kilgore Junior College before transferring to Texas Tech University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Texas Tech in 1993. Dr. Densmore then moved south to attend the University of Houston College of Optometry. She completed externship rotations at the VA Medical Center in Amarillo and Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1997. Since that time, Dr. Densmore has practiced full-scope optometry on the south side of Lubbock, TX. She became interested in co-managing Laser Vision Correction in 1998 after completing a continuing education seminar and was glad to join other local doctors to co-found the Laser Eye Center of Lubbock in 1999. Dr. Densmore is a member of national, state and local professional organizations including the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association and the South Plains Optometric Society. Over the years, she has also worked with organizations like the Lions Club, Vision USA, Prevent Blindness, South Plains Association of Governments Area Agency on Aging, Sight for Students, The Children's Home of Lubbock, Buckner Children's Home and Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Girlstown, USA. Away from the office, Dr. Densmore's interests include hiking, photography, arts & crafts, fishing and herpetology with her husband, Lou.
