Dr. Jewell Ginter graduated in 1976 with an M.S. degree in Biology/Microbiology from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas and went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Houston in 1982. She has been in private practice as an Optometrist since 1982 in Lubbock, Texas. Dr Ginter is a Board Certified Optometrist by the American Board of Optometry. She has four other doctors in practice with her at Ginter Eyecare Center: Dr. Amy Cruth, Dr. Emily Smith, Dr. Steven Barclay, and Dr. Tiffany Griffin. Dr. Steven Barclay is also a Board Certified Optometrist by the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Ginter specializes in Laser Vision Correction Surgery pre-op and post-op care, Glaucoma and Therapeutic Optometry, Contact Lenses (including soft, rigid, and specialty contacts), and Family Vision. Ginter Eyecare Center offers a wide range of services including Vision Therapy and provides an on-site lab for fabrication of glasses so that glasses never have to leave the office. Dr. Ginter is a member of the local South Plains Optometric Society and has membership in state and national organizations such as the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Ginter Eyecare Center has been recognized by the Lubbock Avalanche Journal's Reader's Choice Award, "Best of Lubbock" for five years in a row and was voted 2011 "Best of the West" by Channel 11 viewers.
