On 11/29/2011, DPS CID Agents dismantled a Major Criminal Enterprise and concluded an 18-month investigation into a Methamphetamine trafficking organization operating in Lubbock. DPS Agents arrested 7 individuals on warrants issued in Lubbock County for charges including, engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, multiple charges of Possession with intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Evading Arrest/Detention, Hindering Apprehension, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon.

An additional 8 people were arrested and charged earlier in the investigation and some of those will face additional charges.  The arrest operations today resulted in the seizure of Marijuana from 2 locations and 1 handgun from another location.  An additional suspect from Dallas was already in custody and has been federally indicted for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.

The investigation revealed that associates of the LA FAMILIA MICHOACANA drug trafficking organization in Dallas provided Methamphetamine in multi-pound quantities to suspects in Lubbock on a monthly basis for distribution in and around the South Plains.  DPS Agents seized approximately 250 grams of Methamphetamine; 1.4 pounds of Marijuana from an indoor grow operation, and seized 2 handguns during the investigation.

Officers from the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department, Lubbock Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives assisted in various stages of this investigation.
