A complicated forecast is setting up across West Texas for the next few days. A mixed bag of weather conditions are expected to develop Thursday night and continue through the first half of the weekend.
Latest computer models suggest freezing rain northwest of Lubbock with rain over the city of Lubbock throughout the forecast period Thursday night through Friday. With that said, it is still possible that freezing rain will develop over the city Friday morning with rain/drizzle or freezing rain/drizzle possible the remainder of the day. The best chance of seeing wintry precipitation will be over the northwestern South Plains.
A wintry mix is also possible Friday night through Saturday with improving weather conditions over the second half of the weekend. Many questions remain concerning our weather situation this weekend. Check back often for the latest weather updates.
