Food For Thought 12.1

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Health inspectors surprised several Lubbock restaurants this week, and they all did pretty well. Four Lubbock restaurants top our list in Food For Thought this week.

First at the top: they've impressed health inspectors, not once, but more than seven times! Rows of Top Performer certificates line the wall at Eddie's Barbeque at 1324 E. 50th Street.

"That's just how I've been doing it for the last seven years, so I'm going to keep on doing it that way" Eddie Delavan, of Eddie's Barbeque says.

"Just trying to run a business like it's supposed to be run. It doesn't matter if the health inspector comes and sees me at any time, I should get a Top Performer" Delavan says.

Eddie has been serving up tasty barbeque to Lubbock-ites for years and knows how to stay on top.

"I like to run a clean ship; I don't want anybody walking out of here that thinks that I'm not clean" Delavan says.

Just down the street, Red Lobster at 5034 50th Street served up a perfect score. Whataburger at 1717 50th bagged zero critical violations and Tokyo Japanese Seafood and Steaks at 4637 50th topped our list as well.
