PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) -

A Plainview police officer is on paid administrative leave, pending the completion of a Texas Rangers investigation.

Hale County District Attorney Wally Hatch says Detective Ramiro Sanchez has been leave since Tuesday, November 22.  Hatch declined to comment on what the investigation entailed, but says placing Sanchez on paid administrative leave is standard procedure in the course of an investigation.

Sanchez is a detective with the Plainview Police Department who works in the narcotics division.
