Proposed Cat Ordinance Creating Controversy

A proposed cat ordinance in Lubbock is coming under fire.

Last week, NewsChannel 11 told you about the proposed ordinance that would require Lubbock cat owners to keep cats confined to their property. Some cat owners say that may be tough to enforce on an animal that is, by nature, very independent.

On Thursday night, the Chairman of the Lubbock County Libertarian Party will talk with anyone opposed to the proposal. The meeting takes place at 7 p.m. in Groves Library at 5520 19th St.

The proposed ordinance will go before the Lubbock City Council next. The council is expected to vote on it sometime within the next few months.
