The Texas Tech Lady Raiders kept their perfect start to the season intact this afternoon, knocking off the 16th ranked Lady Lions from Penn State.
In a closely-contested game, the Lady Raiders held on for the 70-66 win.
It was a back and forth battle between two top 25 teams and at the break Penn State held a 2 point lead. The Lady Raiders used team defense and hot 3-point shooting in the second half to pull off the victory.
Tech senior forward Jordan Barncastle took an inbound bas with her team up 1 point with 2.5 seconds left in the game and 1 second left on the shot clock. She knocked down a 3 to make the score 70-66 and secure the victory for Tech.
The win moves the Lady Raiders record to 7-0 on the year. Next up for Tech is a home contest against UTA. That game will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the United Spirit Arena.
