A man and woman pulled over to inspect the damage to their car, that's when Lubbock Police nabbed them as suspects in an early morning hit and run.
Police believe the driver struck a light pole on Fourth Street and the Brownfield Highway shortly after midnight Tuesday, knocking it into the road. He then fled the scene. Minutes later, a second car ran over the pole, causing significant damage to the tires.
The suspect vehicle was located about an hour later in the 300 block of Flint. That's where police arrested the driver, 23-year-old Jamar Louis Wallace, and charged him with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. His passenger, 19-year-old Candace Jade McDonald, was also charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and another outstanding warrant.
