He says he beat his two nephews because they ate too slow, now he'll spend the rest of his life in prison.
In August, 37-year-old Damon Sharp pled no contest to two charges of injury to a child. Sharp claimed he disciplined the boys with a wooden bat, because they were late getting to school and in getting their chores done.
On Wednesday, Judge Brad Underwood said there was no excuse for Sharp's behavior and sentenced him to life in prison plus ten years. "We're very sastisfied," said Jennifer Bassett, Lubbock Assistant District Attorney. "This is a life sentence case, a justified life sentence. This was one of the worst beating cases I have seen."
Both boys were hospitalized for their injuries, and have since recovered.
