Lubbock recorded record low high temp for Dec. 6

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock recorded a high of just 27 degrees Tuesday, the lowest high-temperature on record for any December 6.

Tuesday's low was 9 degrees, which was Lubbock's coldest temperature since February 10, when Lubbock dipped to 4 degrees. February 10 was Lubbock's second coldest day of last winter. The coldest was February 2 at 2 degrees.

For some context, the average low is 28 degrees and the high 55 degrees. The record low for yesterday, December 6, is 1 degree in 1950. The record low for today, December 7, is 8 degrees in 2006.
