Provided by Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
Children's Protective Services (CPS) is collecting toys for its 24th annual "Christmas is for Kids" campaign. The campaign will run from Nov. 21 through Dec. 23, 2011.
For the past 23 years, the community has supported this event by giving Christmas gifts to children who are currently involved with CPS. The children range in age from birth to 18 years old. Last year over 700 children involved with CPS received gifts because of the success of the campaign. The children who receive the benefits of this program are children who remain in the home with their parents. These children do not qualify or receive gifts from any other source or program and are children who would not otherwise receive gifts at Christmas time. Gifts for these 700 children are made possible solely because of the donations from the community and the support this program has received throughout the years from generous donors.
You can participate by bringing an unwrapped gift to any McDonald's restaurant (with the exception of the Wal Mart locations) in the cities of Lubbock, Plainview, Brownfield, Post, Denver City, and Levelland, Littlefield, Lamesa, Seminole, Slaton, Muleshoe. To thank individuals for their gifts, Coca Cola will provide 32 ounce drink to those donating a gift.
Thanks so much for helping us to provide Christmas to hundreds of children that Children's Protective Services works with who might otherwise not have presents Christmas morning.
