Undercover Operation Leads To Raid Of Tahoka Business

In the past month the Tahoka Police Department and Lubbock DPS Special Crimes Deputies have been operating an undercover investigation at George's Burgers in Tahoka.

Around 4:00 Friday afternoon, the Tahoka restaurant was raided. Authorities confiscated 16 eight liner machines. Eight liners resemble electronic slot machines you see in casinos, but here in Texas it is illegal for players to win cash prizes.

"The owners of the business have been paying out cash awards from the machines for the winning tickets," said Tahoka Police Chief, Doyle Lee.

No arrests have been made, but authorities say three people could be charged with possession of gambling devices and running a gambling establishment. Tahoka Police Chief, Doyle Lee says those charges will be filed with the Lynn County District Attorney's Office.
