HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -
Hockley County Attorney Christopher Dennis will run for District Attorney, according to the Levelland & Hockley County News-Press. The district covers Hockley and Cochran Counties.
The News-Press also reports that current D.A. Gary Goff is not seeking re-election.
Dennis is the man who successfully lobbied a State District Judge for the removal of Sheriff David Kinney in 2009 after two of Kinney's deputies were arrested in a federal drug bust.
Dennis told the News-Press that, "The largest part of my career has been spent as a prosecutor; I'm very proud of that fact."
