If you had $300, who would you give it to? This week, we set up near the entrance to the South Plains Mall awaiting our Pay It Forward playmaker.
It only took a minute or two for someone to see our "Pay It Forward" sign and offer to help someone in need.
Crystal Spencer pulls up next to us and wants to help someone who could use the lift. Crystal wants to help a family whose son attends their church youth group. Crystal says this family has been tugging at her heart and she wants to make their Christmas a little brighter.
Crystal does not know the address or phone number of the family. She calls the church office and after an extensive effort to locate the family, she finally has their phone number.
When the family picks up the phone, we unexpectedly discover that they live in Levelland. This "Pay it Forward" segment becomes exciting and offers a road trip for us that threatens the one hour time limit we have to accomplish the task.
We drive to Levelland and meet Joe and Tracy Boggs. They agreed to meet Crystal at a local business parking lot. The Boggs family is completely surprised by this act of kindness. Joe Boggs was speechless, but finally explained that their family has not had a Christmas in four years. He explained that they would have a Christmas this year thanks to Crystal's act of kindness.
It's another amazing segment of "Pay It Forward" that touches the heart of everyone involved.
Be on the lookout for our "Pay It Forward" sign soon. You may be the next person who makes a difference by helping us "Pay It Forward!"
There are only two rules when it comes to helping us "Pay It Forward"
1) It CAN'T be a family member
2) You only have ONE hour to accomplish the act of kindness
When you see us holding the Pay It Forward sign, help us out and make a difference!
