Plea Agreement Accepted in 1978 Plainview Murder - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

A man suspected in 1978 murder in Plainview will likely spend the rest of his behind bars. Friday afternoon, 83-year-old Margarito Hernandez accepted a plea agreement that sends him to prison for 25-years. Hernandez is charged with murdering Georgia Ruiz.

As part of Friday's agreement, he must also pay Ruiz's family expenses for her funeral. Hernandez spent 25 years on the run before turning himself in to authorities last summer.
