Shoppers brave Super Saturday at the mall

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It seems like Christmas has snuck up on some people here in Lubbock. The parking lot was packed, but it is nothing to what you find inside. "It's really busy" Super Saturday shopper Theresa Jasso says.

"Its way busier, I usually do my Christmas shopping way before now" Sarah Pendley and Katy Lopez says. "The weekend before Christmas is always pretty busy, we brave it every year. They say: we want this and this and grandpa pays for it!" Stephen Miller, a shopper says.

With Christmas only eight days away, hundreds hit the mall for stocking stuffers and gifts, and the Munos family is adding a new little member to their Christmas crew.

"We just saw it in the window and decided that's what we wanted. It makes me happy that it put a smile on their face" Esteban Munos says as his daughter holds their new little puppy. "It's a Christmas present for all of us really" Munos says.

Outside in the busy halls, Lubbock-ites are weighed down with bags, cramming for Christmas.

"We're out here together so she can pick out what she wants, and she does a really good surprised face on Christmas morning! Then she gets exactly what she wants!" Pendley says, about her daughter. This mother-daughter duo is braving the masses to put the final checks on their gift-list.

"I either just see it and I think: that would be perfect for whoever, or I go and search for hours and find nothing..." Lopez, Pendley's daughter, says. "I'm still trying to get my daughters to make wish lists and I still get it all wrong!" Pendley says.

Christmas spirit is in the air, and the mall is getting busier by the minute. After you find a parking spot, and that may take while, Christmas is just around the corner.
