The 2011 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index has ranked Lubbock in the top 25 cities among the 200 largest U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth.
The study factors in jobs, wages and salaries, and technology growth.
According to the study, Lubbock showed significant improvement in salary and wage disbursements growth relative to the United States average between 2004 and 2009.
The city also showed gains in 5-year job growth and 1-year high-tech sector output.
