If you're looking for motivation to keep your New Year's resolution to quit smoking: a new study finds women who smoke are more likely to develop skin cancer. The study out of Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa looked at about three hundred patients with skin cancer, and compared them to about the same number of people without the disease. Researchers found women who smoked had an increased risk for squamous cell skin cancer. The more they smoked the higher their risk for the disease. For some reason, the risk was not as high among the men.
