Lubbock Man Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing His Brother

A 26 year-old man is in jail after Lubbock Police say he stabbed his 19 year-old brother multiple times.

Lubbock Police say Joel Zamarano stabbed Gerardo Zamarano in the left side at least three times. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday in the 5500 block of 3rd St.

A witness told police that Joel was breaking up an argument between his brother and his brother's girlfriend when Gerardo got angry with Joel and starting punching him, that's when Joel allegedly stabbed his brother.

Gerardo has since been released from the hospital. Joel is charged with aggravated assault in the stabbing.
