Strong cold front in Thursday forecast

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Another strong cold front moves through the area on Thursday with a high of 40 or so and winds from the NNE at 15-30 mph.

Expect colder temperatures Thursday night with snow beginning in the northern and western areas and moving into Lubbock and most areas Friday morning.

Snow continues Friday and into Saturday morning in the south and southeast areas through mid-morning on Saturday.

It appears that 4 or more inches are possible from Muleshoe east to Plainview, maybe 2 inches or so for Lubbock, and possibly some 2-3 inch amounts in the Lamesa to Snyder and Jayton areas by Saturday morning.

Lows will remain around 20 degrees from Friday morning through Sunday morning and highs only near 30 degrees Friday and mid-30s on Saturday.

Travel through New Mexico and West Texas will be impacted by the snow on Friday into Saturday.

Snow is possible as far south at San Angelo and maybe near DFW Friday night into Saturday.
