Police officer Richard Lee Lewis, 50, of Slaton, pleaded guilty today before U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings to one count of receiving child pornography.

KCBD NewsChannel 11's "Daybreak Today" was first to report Tuesday morning that former Slaton Police Lieutenant Richard "Rick" Lewis was charged Monday with possessing child pornography.
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
A Slaton police officer, who pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography has been sentenced to 70 months in jail.
Richard Lewis, 50, pleaded guilty to those charges back in September. He was sentenced in Federal Court Thursday morning.
According to court documents in the case, Lewis admitted to downloading images and videos of child pornography on his home computer. During a search of his home, investigators seized three computers, 80 Cd's, and 10 VHS tapes.
