LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
As travelers hit the road for the holiday weekend, drivers are getting a break at the pump, especially if they fill up in Lubbock before heading out.
While the national average is about $3.24 a gallon, we found gas in the Hub City well below that.
Several stations are at $2.77 a gallon.
Surprisingly, gas prices are decreasing while oil prices are increasing. Oil closed Friday at just under $100 a barrel.
