LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock grand jury indicted Lucian Banks for mail theft, but as part of a plea bargain he admitted to a lesser charge of obstructing the mail on Friday.

Banks admits he took envelopes out of someone's mailbox. Those envelopes had checks in them to pay bills. The value was more than $300 dollars.

Banks was arrested in Brentwood, California and brought back to Lubbock.

He'll be sentenced at a later date to no more than one year in prison.
