City opens bids for new bus shelters

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Here's some great news for anyone who has to catch a bus in the cold or the rain.

The city is purchasing 18 shelters for bus stops. The shelters will protect bus riders from both the wind and rain while they wait for a bus.

Four of them will go downtown while the others will go to other bus stops around the community.

No word yet on how much the city has budgeted.

The city is asking companies to bid on the shelters.
