A real set-back for the Joiner family.
As you may remember, Joe and Janet Joiner were forced to take both their boys to Duke Medical Center for stem cell transplants, which was their only hope for the boys since both were diagnosed with the same rare fatal illness. Trevor, the oldest, whose first transplant didn't work is waiting now for a second try. Ross, the little one, has done well until last night. He just stopped breathing and as of Thursday, he is in the intensive care unit on a breathing machine.
There are ways you can help. This Friday night, Live Oak Community Church is holding a silent auction and dinner to raise money for the Joiner medical fund. It is $15 a person and there will be free childcare available. An R.S.V.P. would be appreciated, just call Suzie at (806) 794-1112.
There's also a second fundraiser all day Sunday for the Joiner boys at Brunswick Bowl. You can get 3 games, including your shoes, for just $10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
