HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

As of January 13th Hockley County will no longer have Kevin Davis as the Sheriff.  County Commissioners take up the issue Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM.  Item #8 on the agenda says, "Consider and take necessary action to appoint Sheriff for the unexpired term of Sheriff Kevin Davis."

But the meeting is 11 days prior to Davis' resignation. So, the Commissioners have some time and there might not be a final decision Tuesday.  Chief Deputy Paul Scarborough has announced that he will seek election as Sheriff.  The election is November 6.

The June 12 summit, planned for Singapore, offers a historic chance for peace on the peninsula - but also the risk of an epic diplomatic failure that would allow the North to revive and advance its nuclear weapons program.
