Allen Azaryan
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
A federal magistrate on Thursday appointed the public defender's office to represent Allen Azaryan, who is accused of trying to rob the downtown branch of Wells Fargo bank on Dec. 8.
The magistrate also scheduled Azaryan's next court appearance as Jan. 18. That's when he will hear the charges against him and enter a plea of guilty or not guilty.
Azaryan made his first court appearance on Wednesday and requested to have a defense attorney appointed for him.
He was arrested outside the bank by a Lubbock police officer who happened to be nearby at the time of the robbery. For now, Azaryan faces both state and federal charges for bank robbery.
