UMC introduces Better Breathers Club

Posted: Updated:

A new support and education program for patients suffering from chronic lung disease is available at UMC.

The UMC Better Breathers Club is a welcoming support group for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or other lung diseases. Together, club members can learn skills that help manage their conditions and improve their quality of life. The groups are open to patients' families and caregivers. Through Better Breathers, you will:

  • Understand COPD
  • Track symptoms
  • Learn about medications and treatments
  • Study exercise programs
  • Better emotional and social well-being

Better Breathers Clubs are coordinated by a facilitator trained by the American Lung Association. There is no charge. To learn more, contact Lori Stroud at 806.775.8950.

The Better Breathers Club will meet every second Monday of each month, which means they will meet February 13th from 6:00 to 7:00 in the evening.  They will host the meeting at the UMC Activities Center on 82nd & Slide.
