City to spend $4.7 million on street resurfacing

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The City of Lubbock will spend an estimated $4.7 million for micro surfacing of city streets in 2012.  The City is now taking bids from companies that want to do the work.

Micro surfacing has advantages over other forms of sealing such as tar & gravel because motorists are less likely to get rock chips on their windshields and less likely to get tar on their vehicles.

The work is to be done between mid-May and late August.  In residential neighborhoods the work can only be done between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
